The Pentagram
The five-pointed sign of Spirit and the elements.
Each point of the pentagram represents one of the five elements. Using an invoking pentagram for one of the elements brings the properties of that element forth and may bring them within ourselves.
The invoking pentagram creates a portal to the realm of the elements through which that element in its manifestation may pass. Whether for invocation or evocation, invoking pentagrams bring a stronger presence of that element into ritual, working, or life.
Banishing pentagrams reverse that purpose and stop the flow of elemental energy into life, work, or ritual. In regard to Spirit, the quintessential element, the source gives no banishing pentagram. It gives invoking active and invoking passive forms because Spirit is within and without everything.
